2014 Spring/Summer Color Trends

Fashion trendsetters have already represented 2014 spring/summer trends of clothing, shoes, accessories, jewelry as well as makeup and hairstyles trends but we have totally forgotten about 2014 spring/summer color trends. Analyzing the latest fashion shows and designer collections trendsetters represented palette of colors that are going to be popular for this spring and summer.

The most reliable source of information is Pantone Color University. Executive director Leatrice Eiseman commented on summer color trends;

“This season, consumers are looking for a state of thoughtful, emotional and artistic equilibrium. While this need for stability is reflected in the composition of the palette, the inherent versatility of the individual colors allows for experimentation with new looks and color combinations.”

In order to make it clear we will divide 2014 spring/summer colors into two groups; sutble pastel tones and brighter shades. Colors from those two groups can me mixed and matched for more eye catching effect.

Pacid Blue

Cool sky blue shade was dominating is several designer collections. Light and dark shades of blue will look very beautiful but of course you can spice up blue with coral and other pastel shades. Burberry Prorsum new spring/summer collection is the best one who represented stylish garments in sky blue.

Violet Tulip

Violet tulip is another pastel shade that will be suitable for spring and summer. The greatest advantage of violet and other pastel tones is versatility; pastel tones can be matched with any contrastive shade without looking dramatic and grotesque. Tadashi Shoji, Prabal Gurung, DKNY, Burberry Prorsum are the names who chose violet tulip shade for summer collections.

Hemlock Green

Hemlock green (in other words more vintage shade of mint green) can be considered innovation in fashion and that’s why garments in hemlock green gained so much attention.
